I have taken a short break from shooting for no other reason than the studio has been busy.

This shoot happened almost by accident, someone who has used the studio in the past contacted me and asked me if I could shoot a girl he knew. It was a bit risky for me because I hadn’t seen the girl and so did not know how she would look and how she’d be to work with.

It turns out she was hot and very sweet and easy to direct. It was Adriana’s first photoshoot so more directing was needed than for a professional model but she had some really great ideas and we got a load of great portfolio pictures for her.

I enjoy producing and staying back to watch other photographers at work but I probably prefer getting stuck in and taking the pictures myself. Definitely a control thing.

Working with a new girl is really cool because the photographer has even more creative control over the shoot because the girl is not doing her “standard poses”, all the poses are natural “spur of the moment” or come from the photographers direction.

We did two sets in an hour or so: short and fun.

I have been a fan of Britney Skye for a few years now. I met her briefly at LA Erotica a few years ago but this was my first chance to work with her so I was quite excited.

She was shooting with Robert from Bondage by Design but we persuaded her to shoot a quick photoset for us. Robert shot the scene and I told her the poses I’d like to see and directed the scene to a certain extent.

My style of directing is not over-directing. If I am working with an experienced model and experienced photographer they do not need me to tell them how to do their jobs, by getting in their faces, as I have seen other directors do, I’m probably just going to tire and frustrate them. I do have input and ideas that I share, especially if there is a certain angle that I need, for example the soles of the feet with the toes in a certain position, but generally I believe that the model knows how to work the camera and the photographers I use are great so we can get some good content out of the shoot.

The Explanation Page needs updating but it has some more info about my style of working.

Here’s one of the earlier shots. The photographer was using strobe lighting so her pale blue outfit looks white. I like it, it is certainly a different look…

This week the shoots came in quick succession. The day after this shoot, we had another shoot, this time with Sugar.

Sugar was great to work with, despite being 5 months pregnant. I organized everything and got some set design together and we had one quick test shoot.

The day after this shoot, Ms Zena came down to the studio for a solo foot shoot.

I was the photographer and I was borrowing a camera so it took me a little while to get used to the machine and we had a couple of lighting issues but we got a couple of sets of great, classy content in around two hours.

Ms Zena was great to work with and I hope to shoot her again soon.

At the moment we’re starting to have regular, frequent shoots. There seem to be a lot of pretty girls who want to work with me so I’m very pleased and also proud of my work up to this point.

For this shoot we had Kat9, from this shoot and Thora Nang who Brittany has worked with but who I’d only just met recently. The photographer was Felix.

At the moment I am very content focussed - each shoot has to produce a certain amount of content or else everyone’s wasting their time. So, in order to ensure a smooth shoot every time I’m only bringing in one new person each time, see also How I Work. This philosophy has worked really well so far, this shoot was no exception.

I’m starting to get to know Mistress Kat9 very well on a professional level, I know what she is comfortable doing and in what ways I can ask her to extend herself. I love her look, she is glamourous, attractive, stern, regal and almost tomboyishly playful at the same time.

Mistress Thora Nang (AKA Cheryl Dynasty) has a very different look but is very posable. She enjoyed working with Felix and he seemed to bring the best out of her and get the perfect framing of the shot.

The specific aim of this shoot was to get some great glamour poses, this is Felix’s specialty so I was happy to let him direct the shoot to a certain degree. The main difference between me and Felix is that I come from an adult background where the sequence of stills is very important and Felix sometimes looks at each picture individually, always striving for the perfect shot. On the roof, I had a couple of suggestions concerning the sequence of shots and making the action flow instead of jumping harshly from one location to another.

My main role on the external shoots on the roof and by the local railroad was lighting. We shot both girls inside for the final sets which were much more foot-fetish focused, this is where I became more of a director of the action, suggesting poses and angles. I also set up the lighting in the studio and was in charge of props and set design.

We shot at two locations on the Britco roof, at the train tracks and in the studio. Everyone worked very well indeed together and it was a great, fun day. I enjoyed the chemistry between Kat and Thora, contrasting hugely from the chemistry with Lyla Lei in this shoot.

With every production we seem to be getting smoother. When I work with the same girl more than once I notice that the level of trust breeds greater creativity and flexibility. I can’t wait for my next production and the next new addition to my team.

Everyone was very excited when DDI wanted Brittany Andrews for their cover and I felt very priviledged to be present.

We did three scenes in an afternoon and the results speak for themselves. The photographer was Gerry Koehler, who did an amazing job with the lighting and photography and Brittany was on top form and looks great in the latex.

My next full production came after speaking to Mistress Amrita while I was on vacation. She is based in Japan and was going to be in Los Angeles shortly after I returned. We both wanted to work together so I organized a shoot at the studio. I brought Randy Rodman in, from the first shoot and the second male talent was Pierce Butler who is a close friend of my boss, Brittany Andrews. The stage was set for foot worship!

I needed my second shoot to go well to continue moving forwards. We decided to keep things simple. There had been 3 still photographers for the Goddess Heather shoot with me on video camera. While this shoot had ended up very well in retrospect it felt like a case of too many cooks, especially for an inexperienced producer / director. We had a few options, Pierce was available to shoot for me, but we decided to use Pierce in the scene and I became the still photographer and director.

It was a fun day, we all went for dinner afterwards and the day was a success.

When my boss, Brittany Andrews shoots at the studio, I tend to act as a production assistant for whatever is going on. On this day Brittany had an all day shoot at various locations around Downtown Los Angeles. I was involved with shooting in our Dungeon and on the roof.

This shoot was photographed by Ernie Varela who also one of the photographers from my first shoot. He’s very good, his pictures are always excellent and he is one of my favorite photographers to work with. He is a mainly film photographer (as opposed to digital), the shot below was taken on film and was exhibited by the photographer in an exhibition shortly afterwards.

I decided to start producing content for Exquisite Feet, one of the sites I look after as a webmaster. I needed to get this shoot out the way so that I could learn whatever lessons and move on. I decided on a date, I think it was the following week, then sent an e-mail around all the pornstars and models on my list. I used my own e-mail list and got extra names from Brittany Andrews and Porno Dan. The night before the shoot things finally got organized. None of the people I’d originally contacted could make it but someone suggested I contact Goddess Heather and Randy Rodman actually called the studio at around 11.30pm and was able to come down. All in all very fortunate.

The shoot itself started off badly but we were all able to pull together and make a set of still pics that I’m very proud of. Since this shoot all the people I brought together have gone on to do other projects together. I have also worked with most of the people from this shoot since and hope to work with Goddess Heather again soon.
